Hi I'm Geraldine from Ireland. Were hoping to move to Costa Blanca. Do I need an Ime number before I go or how do I get it?

We love animals would mind animals and in Ireland we are Cleaners. Nice to meet you all

An NIE is necessary for anyone who wishes to live here or purchase something such as a car.   Have a look at the Citizens Advice Bureau Spain site, it may have answers to some of your queries.

Hi there,

We are Irish and bought a house two years ago in Torriveja area.

Yes you and everyone in your party will need a NIE, you can get them in the Spanish embassy in Dublin 4, you need to phone first and make an appointment, it about 10 each and takes about 12 days to be posted out after you have applied

Seems strange you needed it to buy a bed I’ve bought lots of furniture and didn’t need it ...

Yeah I was surprised too, I also had to give it when getting new aircon put in and getting new gates put on, maybe just where we are based.
