We’ve been told we have to pay a fee through the bank, but not sure if we have to have a receipt for this before we can book the appointment ?

Hello,

Yes you do Mags, you have to download & complete Modelo 790 Codigo 12 and take it, with  the fee €12  to pay at the bank. The receipt for this has to go with your documents  when applying for residencia.

Cheers

If I am reading this correctly I think you are saying you can't book the EX23 appointment before you have paid the bank fee, this isn't correct is it? As 1st time applicants once we knew we had the favourable outcome for our residency application we booked the EX23 appointments and then went to the bank to pay. Clearly you need to have paid before you attend the ex23 appointment but there is no hard dependency on having paid the fee before you book that appointment only that you have the correct proof of payment when you turn up.

I agree, Lancelot, and I don't say that in my guide.

Kind regards,

Kim

Sounds good. Have you been onto the appointments webpage yet to see if you can book. We got pretty worried at that stage as the clock starts ticking from when you get to a favourable outcome. It's about a month I think.

If you need photos there is a photographic studio/ shop in Montesinos where we had ours done for 6 pounds each. For that you also get a picture size you can use for the driving license exchange process....

...

Let us know how you get on :)

Just went onto the appointments web page , we could have had an appointment on Monday coming, but that’s too soon ! We have to get photos & pay fee first. Do you think the appointment will be straight forward or do we need a translator?

Hi Kimmy , I’ve just read through your excellent guide, thank you. Can I ask please, is the office easy to find ( not the office where you pick up your TIE card) but the visit previous to this , and is it in the centre of Alicante? Would you recommend to someone who isn’t confident driving in a busy city to go on public transport ?

TIA,

Mags.

You don't need a translator. My wife drove us there and she isn't that confident even with my "encouragement". Use google maps to see where the office is and then a navigation app like "here maps" on your phone.

There is parking to be found within walking distance of the offices.

Hi Lancelot,

What do I search for within Google maps please, the “ official name “ of the office ?

It's in Kimmys guide and IIRC the confirmation once you book an appointment.

Oficina de Extranjeria, Calle Ebanisteria 4-6, Alicante 03071

Copy the above address into your browser and you should get a google map up.

Fab Lancelot,

We’ve found it on Google maps and I’m going to bite the bullet & drive !

Thanks to everyone for their kindness and expert knowledge, you’re all amazing.
