3 month winter break starting Dec 2022

Hi everyone 

Happy New year to you all 🎉

Myself and my husband are hoping to spend 3 winter months in Spain from December 22 until Feb 23,we will start our first month  in Alicante city not sure where to go after that, We wont be driving so public transport is our option any ideas or recommendations would be great. We have thought about The Mar Manor, also Oliva.. Any experienced public transport travellers out there, advice would be much appreciated, We love to be near the sea beautiful sandy beaches also near to shops restaurants ect walking distance

Hello

 I would suggest that during that  month you spend  in Alicante in Dec 2022/23,  you go to both train stations and the bus station to see exactly where you can travel to at that time. Public transport is not the best , and much reduced during the winter months - some smaller towns/villages  have no bus services at all. The Mar Menor area is  in the Murcia region rather than Alicante region

You could probably source bus and train routes on line before you get here,  but in a years time, any info. you find could have changed or be out of date

Thanks for your advice i will be doing a lot of research over the next few months hopefully choosing 3 destinations and booking Appartment 's before  we travel, hopefully things will have settled down.. We spent Christmas 2019 in Alicante we loved it so much, obviously because of covid had 2 winter months cancelled...2020 also 21..we enjoyed the trams.. So probably look on that coastline.. Too

I'd suggest you look at Villajoyosa and Altea as your two other bases, both nice coastal towns with the TRAM line running through them and bus services to get you to inland towns.  This agency seems to have a good selection of properties to rent https://www.happyvila.com/en/ .  Google Maps and Street View are great for having a look around in advance.
