Hi Paul,

It's not easy nowadays to be able to live and work in Spain.

To be able to live permanently in Spain and work you will need to apply for and secure a contracted work position then your prospective employer will need to apply for a work visa on your behalf from the Spanish consulate in the UK.

Bear in mind that all available work in Spain must be offered to an EU citizen first by law.

The only chance a UK passport holder will get work is if there is a shortage of skilled people in the industry that you are wanting to work.

The alternative is to move to Spain on the Non Lucrative visa and after a full year of living here legally you can apply to change your visa to a work visa yourself.

It will be the same scenario for your spouse.

Hello

To add to the replies & possible confusion,  you have put your post on a one year old topic  - (Dec 2022), about Xmas Day Lunch!

Its always wise to start a new topic when you post something new, otherwise it could just get scrolled passed

Cheers
