Looking to move to Alicante in the very near future and was thinking to try to set up a small business.  I was thinking to start a mobile Paintless Dent Removal business. Any other advice or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you hold a UK or EU passport?

If you are not a EU/EEA Passport holder you will require a visa to start up a business. This link will provide you with more information:

Much more than that: you need qualifiactions, permits, approvals, tax advisor, all before get the business up and running. Not easy.

The link provided in my response to the poster contains details of everything they need to provide the Spanish Consulate if they decide to move forward.

Due to the fact that most cars in Spain are dented to hell just make sure that paintless dent removal or any smart repairs will pay enough to cover your 300€ amount per month autonomo (after the initial discount), plus accountant fees and taxes whether you make any profit or not. Its not as easy to justify self employment here as it is in the UK.
