Ladies and Gentlemen, Others, Within the Spanish system it is illegal to work once retired. My question for a specialist lawyer is the interpretation, if there no specific provision, of whether this applies in the case of a non Spanish citizen and or whether the rule/law applies if one is retired (as in receipt of pensions (not Spanish) state and otherwise) and working out of state but a Spanish resident. If someone could point me to a specialist legal mind who can advise me I would be most grateful, the interpretation by the courts and Spanish revenue perhaps being as important of not more so than the actual statute position if it is not clear. Thanking you in advance and praying that you, family, friends and neighbours are safe and well.

Compensations from the Spanish public pension system are incompatible with any other type of income incl. bonuses, royalties, author's fees, etc.

If you're not in receipt of Spanish state retirement pension, then as far as I'm aware there isn't any restriction on working whilst retired.

Even if you receive a Spanish pension, you can continue working but there are some restrictions.

Have a look at what Seg-Social say:

Thank you Jim but as a former lawyer and while all the Spanish advisors have no idea, re. my question, I wish to communicate with a front liner who is familiar with the way the provisions are interpreted where it is grey.

I have now read those guidelines/advice. It is the very reason I created the post because, clearly, it assumes that the pension is Spanish.

Not quite - it assumes the person is in receipt of a Spanish state pension.

Taking a simplistic view, as there's no mention of any restrictions on those not in receipt of a Spanish pension, then I would take that to mean that there aren't in fact any such restrictions.

But I can understand you wanting to know not only any regulations on the topic, but also how these are interpreted.

Unfortunately I can't point you at anyone who could assist.
