I’m coming out Xmas/new year and want to know when the supermarkets are open to do food shop please

Usually open to about 3 or 4 on Christmas Eve, closed Christmas Day. Same to about 3 or 4 on New Year's Eve and closed New Year's Day and Jan 6th (3 Kings). No boxing day holidays here.

The "eves" are on Sunday this year so best to check with each individual supermarket website. Just put in (for example) Consum.es or Lidl,es or whatever and enter your postcode and it will tell you what days they are open.

Although it might not affect you, 26th Dec is in fact a local Torrevieja holiday when some places will close.
