Hi there,

We are a small family moving to Benigembla on 7th April. We always have a limited budget and are keen to know where to source cheap food and groceries - or any essentials. Here in France we always shop at Lidl. Our food shop is only ever fresh, simple food - nothing boxed, frozen or processed. Please can any one advise me on where I cab buy very cheap, simple food for my family? Also, where could we buy cheap clothing?

Thanks xx

I don't know your area, but there are plenty of Aldi supermarkets, and several Lidl - look at their websites to find out which are your nearest.

For cheap clothing, there are a few Primark shops, but you might have to travel to get to one.

Also look at your local markets. The ones near me have well-priced fruit and veg, and there are plenty of stalls selling clothing. In the early days, I remember being impressed that a lady could buy two bras for €5!

Hello

We have a home on the outskirts of Benigembla and we shop at various places in the village for groceries as there is a butcher, small grocery store and a basic market on a Saturday morning the village also has a good pharmacy and hair salon.

There are various supermarkets in the area too in other villages close by. Orba and Jalon have Masymas

Lidl and Aldi are also in nearby villages but youvwill need to drive there for big shops

There is a bigger mall at Marina with big hardware and supermarkets 20 k away

I hope this helps

There are also farmers markets around too and a big rastro in Jalon on a Saturday only 10 mins drive away
