TIE Number

Do you mean an NIE number or the TIE (Residency)?

It would help if you clarify your question. Do you want to know about the NIE number or how to obtain a TIE residency cards?

We already have an NIE number, we’ve been told we need a TIE non resident card before then end of December, we’re coming over to Spain to open a bank account next week to open the bank accounts, been told we have to deposit €9000 each into the account for 3 months, just trying to get anymore information that may help us.

Hi,

You can't get a "non residents" TIE card.

The TIE card is for a person who has been approved to live in Spain permanently by the authorities. Owning a property in Spain does not give you any special rights to residency. 

To gain the TIE you have to prove by various means that you live here full time. You would need to prove that you have enough income to satisfy the authorities you won't become a burden on the state.  As you know , that income or lump sum must be paid into a Spanish bank account. You would need to prove that you have full healthcare cover paid upfront for a full year. They will expect to see utility bills being paid on a regular basis etc.

You need to make your application for residency before 31st December otherwise the financial requirements necessary for residency will probably increase four-fold.

You will also need private health insurance if under state pension age. Income requirements have just been reduced, it's 5500€ for 1 or 7500 for 2, approx and 500€ month. You need to go on the padron at Town Hall. Google Uma @getlegalinspain for assistance with all your requirements. She comes highly recommended by people on here.
