May I suggest that you go to a recognised professional seller.  There is a rule here that all vehicles sold  privately have a compulsory 6 month guarantee form the SELLER.

A friend of mine privately sold a lovely car in perfect condition and three weeks later the new owners were back claiming for a blown up engine.

They are now going to court which might take years.

Yes. Fair enough. I don't suppose you know of any companies with a good reputation within 100km of Benidorm?

Hello Phills 61, as a matter of fact I do. 

For years I have used Caravanas Cruz at Elche.  They are on the Rondo Sur but have a good website with map.
They also have a very good shop and a repair workshop.

Never had cause for complaint.

For what it's worth, don't get hung up on the mileage, I'd rather have a van with high miles and service history, than a lower mileage van that's been sat with all the rubber and plastic parts deteriorating. Spain is a huge country attached to the rest of Europe so the distances covered are much more than in the UK. 

My own Van has 425,000 kilometres on it. I have just got back from a month travelling down to Gibraltar and the length of Portugal. We are now preparing for a trip into southern Italy, then back up and into Greece.

Is there a reason (other than distance) why you are looking to purchase locally?

Maybe warranty etc?

Our last 4 motorhomes were all bought in Germany, much bigger choice of model and easier to get the layout required.
