Probably rightly ridiculed but he was not in government when he made the statement, having resigned the year before.

True but still a conservative MP at the time.

Because Spain is too slow vaccating
Because the UK found the answer to the situation and acted immedately to stop more people getting infected, OK!

Hi Jack58,
Yes, the UK was the first country to develop a Covid-vaccine, but as I've already explained to you, none of the vaccines are 100% proof, their purpose is to prevent us from developing the worst effects of the illness and thereby reducing our ability to transmit the virus. Unfortunately, even being first to roll out a vaccine does not excuse the grave errors made by the UK government prior to vaccines becoming available, which have resulted in the UK having the highest Covid-19 death toll in Europe.
An important difference is that, in my area of the Costa Blanca, for example, it's 22C today, whereas it's only 10C in London, so we are continuing to benefit from the evaporation of aerosol that transmits the virus. You don't appear to understand that health authorities take many factors into consideration when deciding the rollout of their vaccination programmes, and the Spanish climate alone, especially in the south, is just one reason why the timing of Spain's regional programmes may differ from the UK. However, that said, I had my 4th jab (second booster) this morning, along with the 'flu jab, so that's only 9 days after you - so not "slow" at all.
Kind regards,
Kim

It was a remark by Matt Hancock. Who stated the pandemic in the UK is over.
'Matt Hancock has been ridiculed for alleging that the Covid pandemic is over in the UK, even as the death toll continues to climb.'

Hi,
agree your comment about Jacks statements being rubbish, they are, but where did the UK government say that covid was all over? If they thought that why would they be rolling out successive booster programs?

That being the case perhaps you'd be better off staying in England!
You would be much better off staying in the UK, my son has received around £1,300 put into his bank and in this new year is to receive another £1,350 he has also had 5 Covid jabs, great if you can get it?
