Thank you for replying.  Yes I am aware it the Non Lucrative Visa issue, My mother who is upstairs now was an Irish citizen and I am at this time, applying for my Irish Passport.  Walla, sorted.

Hi. I note further down you are hoping to move over 2023/24. My husband and I are from Glasgow and retiring early & moving over in 2023.
My advice to you is to ensure you get your Irish citizenship application in as soon as possible. We applied Feb 2020 and still waiting. Obviously due to pandemic and the relevant department being closed on & off for up to 2 years.
Applications are being processed strictly on date order.
There is an excellent forum for people who have applied for Irish Citizenship and posts the last couple of weeks suggest they are now processing applications received Dec 2019/Jan 2020. So fingers crossed we should get word back fairly soon. The good news for you is they are trying to clear the backlog, so moving over in 2023/24 should be sufficient time for your citizenship application to be processed. But forum members who have applied recently are certainly expecting their applications to take up to 18 months/2 years. So get they application in as soon as possible!
Your fall back of course, as you are retiring and not looking to work as a UK citizen, is the NLV route. But I imagine would no doubt be a lot easier (& cheaper!) if you were able to moved over based on being an Irish/EU citizen. Good luck & all the best!
Cheers, Sean.

Hi David,

Welcome to the forum. I live in Benidorm although I don't live on a mobile home site I know several people who do and seem to enjoy the sites. There are several on the outskirts of Benidorm which are all very similar to each other having swimming pools, bars and site restaurants. Beware that some...

... sites are very strict about parking in certain areas, charge extra for various other things like visitors staying overnight or using the facilities.

I looked at the mobile home sites when I first came to Benidorm years ago and decided it was not for me. You can rent a two bedroom apartment in Benidorm for a similar price as a mobile home/caravan.

If I can help with any Benidorm queries please ask.

Don't forget that even with an Irish passport you have to sign on the foreigners register within 90 days of arrival in Benidorm.

Steve

Hi steve I have just arrived well 10 days ago and I too have an Irish passport. Could you please explain or direct me to the foreigners register (within 90 days of arrival in Benidorm. )

Hi Poddy,

The immigration procedure office in Benidorm is:

Comisaría de Benidorm(Benidorm police Station)

Address:   C/ Apolo XI n.º 36 Benidorm

Teléfono    966831934

I don't know if you are expected to make an appointment at the police station or just walk in.

One thing to remember is there is a big difference between a 6 day holiday and living there/here full time...

I fully understand that a 6 day holiday is very different from full time living in Benidorm.  Apart from past 2 years with Covid etc, I have been holidaying every year in Spain for past 30 or so years.  I love the Spanish culture, the people and the weather.  And well I have decided that when I finish working in UK, there is absolutely nothing keeping me in UK.  I want to retire in the sun.  Bring it on.

I have made up my mind Ray.

Hi

Well its got to be better for health as long as you have everything  in place and no worries, we have a place in Murcia since 2004, with the idea of retiring, but one of our sons died ,in 2018, so have decided to stay put, but its a lovely country , administration like here, sunny days, lots  of culture that you will know of, people to meet, you only live once,
