Hi I'm coming to alicante with my wife and child on holiday we have a hired vehicle and have some ideas on places we'd like to see, but also like to know of some places worth seeing from people who live here or have been here before.

I particularly we like nice beaches coves not so well known and mountain views, day trips and visits to factory's wine yards etc were coming over mid Nov so appreciate we won't be going in the sea much.

Any ideas appreciated so I can research and plan a great trip for us

Santa Barbara Castle in Alicante well worth a visit, parking at the top or can get the lift up, then do wine tasting tour in the city after!!

Benidorms not really a massive family place especially in winter, end of November after the fiestas. You can still enjoy the weather though and because you have a car for rent you can venue further. Here are some places you may enjoy (sorry if I have missed some)

Chocolate factory in vila joiosa is good 10mins on the tram or driving.

Guadalest for the dam and castle beautiful historic lil village, 20mins drive.

Terra mítica zoo, although expensive is brilliant. Most likely open winter hours which is Thursday to Sunday.

If you fancy Valencia its a beautiful city and only an hour up the road roughly. There they have the aquarium and science center (also where the European grand prix was held).

If you like driving then the Spa baths at Fortuna is a different way to go .Motorway to Mercia, follow Fortuna turnoff, use satnav!

Spa baths from Roman era ,restaurants, heated outside pool ,(naturally heated ) ,great ,especially if weather is cold.Bit expensive but good for a one off and memories.

Area is different from Alicante as Fortuna is in an ancient Volcano ,again if you like driving and can follow a satnav plenty of sweeping mountain roads, something different.
