I agree about privacy on the campsites, I also have friends on Villamar and did consider buying on there myself but after visiting I changed my mind, plus points are a great community atmosphere with many activities taking place, swimming pool and the club house, what I didn’t like was the lack of privacy, you can hear every word spoken when you walk past, some vans lack basic facilities so you need to use the shower block and a lot of the vans that you see are old fashioned and over priced with many poor diy conversions, the ground rent is also a lot for what you get.

An apartment is a better option but you won’t get that community atmosphere unless you can get on a small complex where people actually do mix, it depends what you want, I personally would prefer a purpose built static caravan than a converted tourer with an awning.
