The OP is complaining about the cost of electricity so it is about cost.

On caravan parks the electricity bill for the site is divided between the caravans by the site formula by various rules of caravan size (and maybe awnings).

Steve

That's not true you have your own meter and are charged for what you personally use, you do not share the rest of the sites electricity

Did you read my last post?

I checked with a friend who lives permanently on La Torretta benidorm and this was her answer:

She explained that on their site there are four caravans hooked up to each electricity distribution point dotted around the site. Their electricity bills are divided up between the 4 caravans depending on size etc.......

Maybe "some" sites have individual electricity meters but others don't.

Out of interest Which site do you live permanently?

Steve

Yes I read your last post and I’m on La Torreta but not permanently just as a holiday home and they invoiced me for the electricity that I used over 2 weeks and they told me it’s 50 cents per kWh so I’m sure that each caravan must have its own meter otherwise what you are saying wouldn’t work but I have read of other companies charging much less per kWh and that’s why I wondered if you could choose your own provider? Thanks

If you were part of the site formula for dividing the sum total you will have kWh charged to you.

Have you actually seen or been given an electricity bill with your individual meter readings?

Yes I did read your post and it stated that 4 caravans share the electric and divided by some formula which is crazy but davidbn1 who owns a caravan on La Torretta states differently  and  receives an individual invoice as do I which states how many units I’ve used and the price? I  have a caravan on a site in Benidorm which has individual meters and you pay for what you use, I’m not on La Torretta. I don’t think it’s feasible and wouldn’t work to share with three other caravans and have it divided, as you’ve no idea whose using what, and seems a bit of a con, as with all sites you are limited by the KWh of electricity you receive and if you use too many kws of power it will trip, does that mean all vans would trip if one uses more power? And what happens like davidbn1 if he only spends a limited time in his van and the other 3 live permanently will he pay for theirs, I doubt it so I would think they have individual meters.

Out of interest which site do you live on permanently.

You can argue the point as much as you like but my good friend lives on La Torretta permanently and has done for 6 years. She told me about the electricity set up and she has no need to lie.......

You are just a visitor so you don't know anything about the set up for permanent residents. Its OK getting an invoice with figures on it but I'll bet you've never seen an official bill from any electricity supplier....

Wind you neck in a bit!!!

Haha, How can I argue with such a man who knows everything about caravan sites when he doesn’t own one but  because his friend tells him well done, let me give you a bit of information shall I, I wouldn’t normally but because of your arrogance I will. I have owned a property in Spain for 31 years and have seen many utility bills including electricity, I am now fortunate to have two properties one in Torrevieja and I own a caravan on a large site in Benidorm (I’ll let you guess which one, as you know everything and we have meters and individual bills, when your friend says one thing and the Op says another then we both have a 50/50 chance of being right or wrong but it’s really not important) I spend most of my time in Benidorm, I am resident in Spain and have been probably a lot longer than you, so I am not a visitor as you seem to believe.

I suggest that until you have facts about some one maybe you should wind your neck in.

I'm not interested in your life or where you live !!

The OP was complaining about the high cost of his electricity over 2 weeks which was €61 which as was explained to me that the site formula was used to send him an invoice probably for his portion of the distribution point charges.

I couldn't care less about how you live. Where or fo how long but I know that my electricity is measured each month and I get a detailed bill. Living in an apartment I retain all my privacy, which is lacking on a camp site. The privacy issue is the main reason I don't and wouldn't live on a caravan site.
