Personally, I wouldn't buy a second hand bbq. You've no idea what has been cooked on it or how it's been maintained or cleaned.

Get a reasonably priced new one and you should be able to get an empty gas bottle from a forum member.

Thanks for your thoughts Rob,I would give it a good clean up,but as we're pensioners and will probably only use it once a week we did not want to pay for an expensive new one.

Mine doesn't need any cleaning as the gas fire comes from above or sidewise of the meat, never below the food so nothing can drip into the heat or burn in.
