Hi,

If it's with Sabadell as is mine I think  it is so you can refuse the payment if you didnt ask for it......if that makes sense,

Like you I am with Sabadell and think the same, although I have never had to use the option.

Hi,

What I meant was for example you had cancelled your monthly payment for your tv/internet and the company carried on taking out the money you could refuse the payment.

I'm not exactly great at explaining but hope you understand now. Lol!

What it actually means is that if a direct debit has been taken from you and you are not happy with it or did not authorise it you can have the amount returned to your account very quickly.

Don’t laugh but I went into my branch in Pinoso and asked the young lady at the counter what it meant. She said she had no idea at all but that the bill/direct debit had been paid so I shouldn’t worry! However, I go along with the theory that it is our safety net to refuse further payments on a service we have perhaps already cancelled.

There is also another word ‘split’ which if you click on it, you could make the payment in two instalments if I understood correctly!

Sometimes their English leaves a little to be desired 😊
