AVANTEL
I'd like to let people know about AVATEL and the service they provide. I work for myself and need to be in constant contact with my clients even when I'm on my holidays. We have a holiday home in Cabo Roig and in the past used TV Horadada for wifi whilst we are there. They provided an excellent service with good upload/download speeds so everything was fine. However, they were taken over by AVATEL who provided not so good a service. You have to pre-pay, which isn't an issue, but when they don't turn on/off the wifi on the required days, that does cause a problem and did when we used them for the first time. Their answer was to refund me €11, which is not the issue, the issue being no service available when my clients were sending emails to me. Luckily I could respond by phone using 3G. So, this year I used them again and of course claimed my €11 off, but the service was even worse, the wifi would just drop off, was extremely slow and the customer service was rubbish when you tried to contact them. I spent more calling them - over 24 from my mobile phone than the actual wifi bill whilst we there!!!. They sent an engineer out, he moved the mast and said that there were so many providers in the area that the signal was poor, so he pointed my mast in the opposite direction which made it even worse to the tune that I had no service at all the following day! The result after complaining to AVATEL - not via emails as there was no service, but by telephone was €6.24 discount, which can't be reimbursed to my bank account as it's under €10 - company policy, so it can only be redeemed when I use their service again. What a joke, why would I want to use the service again of someone who can't provide what I require.
The reason for posting this message was to see if anyone else has had the same issues with AVATEL in the Cabo Roig area and if anyone knows of a reliable pay as you go wifi provider?
