There has been no recent changes to the rules regarding masks.

You are required to wear masks in all shops and Farmacia. You can remove your mask once you are seated in a bar or restaurant.

You should wear a mask if you can't maintain the social distancing rules while outside otherwise you don't need to wear a mask while outdoors.

Will I need to wear a face mask if I travel by train? I have approximately an 11 hour journey from Santander to eithet Alicante of Malaga which is a long time to wear a mask and if it's compulsory I'll probably givec it a miss and travel to somewhere with a shorter journey. I don't think I'll be able to hack wearing a masy for 11 hours.

Hello

I would say yes, mandatory on buses/taxis so I would think trains will be the same.

People will be getting on/off at all times & sitting close to you  so you won't be able to guarantee a safe social distance. With windows open or aircon on ( no heat to trouble you) you will be able to sit &  breathe normally in a mask, you wont even remember you have it on

Cheers

Yes I agree and the train station will also be classed as one of those areas where you can’t socially distance, like airports, shopping malls and markets. So masks will also need to be worn in the station, just to add additional mask wearing time to our travellers dilemma.

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately 11 hours +  traveling wearing a face mask will be too much for me also being unable to take the mask off to have something to eat or drink during such a long journey will exacerbate the discomfort. I'll probably have to make other travel arrangements.
