Hi, we have just completed on a holiday home in Cabo Roig. We are toying with the idea of buying a LH drive car in England and leaving it in Spain. Can anyone recommend a company that specialises with the paperwork and an estimate of cost? Also, we will be leaving it at Alicante Airport so any recommendations for parking firms would be much appreciated. Thanks!
I we use Plane Parking for four years never had a problem with them . Have not seen our vehicle since January 19 due to virus.have had them take car for service and MOT phoned me to say all completed all paper work in vehicle.not an idle situation and would not consider doing it in U.K.but when car in Spain we are in U.K. do not have a choice really.but no resin not to trust them.

Sorry but it only just my opinion. I can´t see the point of buying a LHD car in England to bring to Spain. The costs involved should make it more sensible to buy here in Spain as you would have to get the car reregistered here, get the number plates changed to Spanish plates and presumably if the car has been used in England the headlights readjusted to the correct side for driving here.

Good point John we have purchased two cars here from dealers they do all the paper work and transfers for you turn up drive it away our 2nd vehicle came with an official mileage service record Guarantee for piece of mind.

My husband was comparing prices and the LHD cars seem much cheaper in England plus we have quite a lot of things to bring over but I do see your point of view, John as regards ease of buying a car in Spain!

When we were coming out to Spain we bought the cheapest car we could find that I thought would get us here, loaded up and made the journey, once here we sold it ( cancelled tax and insurance) to someone returning to the UK and bought a quality car here.

Although sometimes you can find a LHD in the uk that’s already registered in Spain. There are some about. But obviously have to look for them.
Also plane parking is great you can do a dual airport -so Alicante and Murcia -for around 350 a year. Single airport - so either Alicante or Murcia - I think is 300 😁👍
