Hi all ,looking for advice re my car hire experience please .I booked a car through Ryanair with O K mobility .The paperwork had my flight number but pick up time for 10 am .Our flight from Luton departed at 2 pm .At the ok mobility desk I was told I was out of the time window for collection and “no show “.was on the computer .I had to pay €€140 more to get the vehicle .Going to take this further with Ryanair ,has anybody else experienced this ?.Thanks for reading jim

Are you saying that RA made a mistake with the booking time or that you were delayed by 4 hours?

Hi we weren’t delayed but some how the pick up time was at 10 am .I’ve never had a problem with times ,car is booked out for that day so didn’t collection time has never been raised like this !.Thanks for your reply .👍

So just want to say we recently booked a car via RA with OK Mobility (return it tomorrow) and on the booking I had to enter collection and return date and time!
However on collection they said one minor defect with the car on checking we found a further 14 defects, we went back to the desk to report to be told ok tell us when you return car, so that day we emailed photos of all the defects, which they acknowledged in return email.

Don't know about OK Mobility in particular but as a general rule hire companies will have a 'drop dead' policy for no shows which  typically will be one or perhaps two hours after the allotted pickup time.

In busy times when demand is high they are likely to enforce it more rigorously than in quieter times when they can be more relaxed because of having a good stock of cars available.

What I would say is for any hire company rather relying on them holding a car for you for x hours or indefinitely, even if they have done so in the past, is if you are delayed in any appreciable way phone the hire desk at the destination airport to inform them that you are still coming and what time you expect to be there.
