We usually go through Zest and favour hiring the car from Drivalia. Zest has won the 'Which' recommendation several times and usually offer an extra driver for free with free cancellation up to shortly before the booking date. We find Drivalia at Alicante airport efficient and courteous.

Try Magnum or Lara cars.

Both are off airport companies who meet you at the airport with your car, the price quoted is what you will pay, no hard sell of extras, no waiting around for shuttle bus, I have used both of them and would recommend.
