Hi, Please can anyone let me know if I can use a Spanish Solicitor if buying a property in Cabo Roig, or can I use an English firm. Also would I be right in saying that I should be expecting  to pay at least 10% in order to cover  my legal fees?

Many thanks in advance for any info,

                                  Regards Jayne.

I would recommend Juan morales at J & A lawyers.  Based in Cabo Roig. He handled our purchase and took us to the bank and notary to sign for the house. Continues to handle our fiscal affairs. The office is opposite the Health Centre in Cabo Roig.

Hi Jayne, we bought in Cabo Roig last year and used Spanish Solutions in La Zenia, they are solicitors- a solicitor called Eva Gonzales Gilmartin looked after us. She was great, explained everything in detail right from the start and was always contactable by phone or email. As we would not be in Spain for all the transactions, signing etc of the contract we did a Power of Attorney- with Eva’s help- through the Notary. Spanish Solutions organized the transfer of name on electricity bills, water bills, Suma and organized our NIE numbers etc so everything was in order when the sale went through. There’s a 10% tax plus approx another 3% for legal fees etc, so budget for at least 13% on top of your purchase price. Our purchase was completely painless and a year on its the best thing we’ve ever done. Best of luck with everything,

Regards,

Trisha
