Waiting time for cataract removal

Hi Everyone,

I have cataracts in both eyes which need removing. Can anyone tell me what the waiting time might be for this procedure at Torrevieja Hospital please? Or do I opt for Quirón?

Hello Oxonia,

I had eye surgery just last week, on one eye. My initial appt at the Opthamoligist in Torrevieja was Nov.2022. more appts followed at Torrevieja Hospital in Feb & May & surgery on 29 Aug , so 10 months total.

I have now to wait for 2nd eye op (told by other patients its around 3months)

I know at Quiron it is over É2000 for one eye.

My wife was diagnosed with cataracts in Jan 2022 and had both completed by November 2022. This was including a 3 month wait between operations. The ophthalmologist told her the targeted waiting time was 5 months but was delayed due to covid procedures.

Hello

Just an update on the time between operations for anyone who's waiting for 2nd surgery.

Although I was told by several people that the 2nd eye surgery is about 3months after the first op. they seem to have speeded up at Torrevieja Hospital. I got a call today & my surgery is next week -- just one month after the first cataract was removed.

Hope this helps anyone who is on the waiting list.
