I know that Trump is treated as a figure of fun but I think it's worth remembering that he's the democratically elected president. Half of America voted for him. I don't think I'd be very impressed if an american forum said these things about our democratically elected government?

That says a lot about the American people and as Villas says there are plenty of people ready to take a swipe at our elected Government here in Spain from distant lands.

Yes totally agree with you, I go frequently to visit my sons and before he was the Republican leader he was building his popularity then.

I was shocked as the BBC was not giving him a chance at the time.

Then he became President which was no surprise, he turned the economy around and still ahead (since the virus outbreak)on the Dow Jones comparing to Obama's reign as president.

The USA citizens are so culturally different from us, probably because it's only a few hundred years old and have so many different nationalities living there.

I am not a Trump fan but just my observation while travelling over there quite frequently.

He also was chosen democratically.

I am a US citizen and I think he’s a dim witted narcissist doing untold damage to his country. To each his own I suppose, but In my opinion nothing wrong with criticising him on a forum.

I heard technally he is no longer POTUS as he handed over power fully to FEMA. Thus Pete Gaynor is actually running things for 6 months.

well said Razor...like you i am not a fan of any politico but not much respect for an elected leader who has huge influence on the financial state of UK....usually by losers who drive an escort with different color doors...i also worked with lots of americans in oil and found huge respect for what he has done so far...and looks like will continue to do after 2020 when his denigrators self implode...

Saying oil men like a Republican President is like saying Italians like pasta. As for 2020, all will be revealed. Biden is a poor candidate, but to my mind Trump Is singularly awful, so I think Joe has a chance.

You are so right having two sons over there and meeting so many Americans they do not know where the UK is on a map and that's a fact.

When you get to know them well they often talk about how they beat us in the war and the Boston tea party and Independence day to my astonishment.

I always say we do not do any of the above in History at school until the sixth form lol.

But that's how they think.

Totally different culture.
