Villas, 2."Do you want to abolish your Royal Family from your Constitution ?" in Spain?. NO!. in UK a Constitution does not exist."
In UK a constitution very much exists, just not all in one document.

I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has ever worked out what contribution to the exchequer is made indirectly by the royal family. There must be a massive amount of income generated by tourism, memorabilia etc.
Plus the royal family provide a lot of support to charities.
Without the royal family there wouldn't be:
The Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
The Prince's Trust
The Invictus games.
In my personal opinion of course:
The Royal Family is good for the UK and without doubt it brings in far more revenue than what is being spent in recent events.
I really feel for some of the homeless people and we should do more for them but the problem is knowing which are genuine cases and which are not. It’s a very difficult and moral game.
War veterans, abused children, adults and mental illness cases (forgive me if I’ve left anyone out) should get a lot more support as they are well deserving cases.
Perhaps Harry should have publicly made a contribution towards the costs.
It would be nice to know what they actually spend our money on and how it’s broken down.
I would love to be a fly on the wall in their lives sometimes.

Hi Cherry1, thanks for your reply. No I would not to go to a boundary where I will feel helpless and frustrated. What I would like their expenses to be accountable. Also the size of the number of them to be cut down, so the ones who are important to the nation to work harder. Is this unreasonable in your opinion? Even Prince Charles expressed such a wish. The above actually does explain the cost of the monarchy and the revenues they bring in! This was doing the rounds some years ago so I kept it, knowing it would be useful some day!
And, no, I am not particularly a fan of theirs, but compared to some elected Heads of State, they could be so much worse!,

Thank you, Kim, hopefully that might give pause for thought to some of the republicans.
And if £1.8 billion is only for tourism and business development, then one has to add the tax revenue from people employed by the royal family, tax revenue from the autónomos that the Prince's Trust helped to set up in business, broadcast revenues from the Invictus games, etc etc.
Without all the revenues generated as a result of having a monarchy, then either or both personal and business taxes would have to be increased to make up for the shortfall.

Thank you.... I was going to say that!, but they have, will & (whoever gawd lard) in the future "JUGGLE" numbers from the tax payers. If not no money.
