Personally I would keep it, gas is far cheaper than electric if you don't have a gas boiler get one fitted they don't cost a fortune but will save you a fortune over time and it's almost instant.

Hi we do have a boiler but I thought if I got it out and went back to the electric company I would only have one standing change.the gas 64 .85 that's every quarter.

I would be interested to know if the gas company will remove your meter ? Personally I would try to have it removed and use bottle gas it's as cheap as chips and the bottle lasts for ages. For only about 14 euro's for a propane bottle to refill it's the best way forward once you have sourced your first bottle. Even after 10 year living here I wouldn't change.

Natural gas standing charges will go up in order for them to get their investment back. (One day).

Hi the standing carge depends on the tarif you are on you could always find out what you are on as 65 sounds expensive compared to us! if you go on the cheaper tarif the gas you use is more expensive but still very cheap compared to electric.

Repsol have the better delivery service. They probably require you to have your gas installation inspected and a boletín issued before they will deliver.

I've never bothered about protecting bottles from the heat - they're designed to withstand an extreme over-pressure before they fail.
