Want to know more about Calpe

I am a single retired person,lived in north costa blanca many years .Looking for a change of scenery & Calpe looks a choice I could make for a new home.But unbelievably,although I have visited most places(the tram is so handy!) I have never actually been to Calpe.I will want to be central as I no longer have transport & looking for a 1 bedroom apartment which is enough for my needs.I notice that so many though have no lift in many edificios.All info.will be much appreciated as,hopefully this will be my last move & I want to get it right& maybe I should think about another location north of Altea.
