We found a small black and white cat on our property in Maryvilla today, screaming for food and water (which we provided to him). He is very freindly and have a collar with golden bell on his neck, so we think he is domesticated and have an owner, but got lost.

Unfortunately we cannot take him, so please help him find his rightful owner.

DM me if you need more info or want to take him in.

Cats are not stupid, it will find its way home by itself. So don't feed it.

(S)He clearly is still a kitten, (s)he might not know yet how to get back to where it came from.

I would put this post on Facebook on the Calpe based pages, as local knowledge always helps.

Not necessarily.

Sometimes a cat will bolt to escape  danger or a perceived threat and if it's already in unfamiliar territory, like say only recently arrived at it's current home, all sense of location and/or direction can be lost. I've had that happen with a cat in the past but thankfully we found it.

Your best course of action is to take it to a vet and see if it's chipped, that will reveal it's owner.

By law all cats and dogs are supposed to be chipped but if it isn't then contact your nearest animal rescue center.

Amy vet can scan for a chip. There may also be a local cat rescue with a volunteer who can pop over to yours with a scanner. If no chip then suggest advertising locally and hand over yo a rescue. Hopefully the cat and owners can be reunited.

Yes I'm being serious, we took a couple down to Mazzaron to collect there's,  it certainly didn't get there on its own also my daughters friend had a cat that used to go in to their neighbours most days, neighbours disappeared in the night so did the cat
