Hola all.

It's our first winter in calp and we are running low on wood pellets for our fire which were left by the previous house owner .

Can anyone tell me where the bags of wood pellets can be purchased please ?

Thanks

Hi Shorty,

You can buy them from Leroy Merlin and also pellet burner suppliers.  Typically, we find Leroy Merlin the cheaper option, but note that prices have increased significantly this year - the pellets we were buying last year at €4.50 per 15kg bag are now €6.99:

Hi Kim

€6.99 is quite reasonable when you consider I went into Everak (The large ferreteria) on furniture avenue in Almoradi yesterday and they were charging an eye watering €11.95 for a 15kg bag. Funnily enough I didn't see a large crowd queueing to buy them.

Kindest Regards

Neil

I bet! 😂

Before Christmas, we paid €7.69 per bag in LM, so perhaps prices are slowly coming down, but I think the smaller suppliers who aren't getting through stock that they probably paid higher prices for pre-Christmas, will continue to be uncompetitive until they've recouped their outlay.

The place where we bought our pellet burner is still selling bags at €10.50 - even our local Chinese bizarre is selling them at €9.50, but as they're under-cutting other local suppliers, I guess they'll eventually sell them to people who don't want to travel further afield.

Stay warm folks! 😊

Kind regards,

Kim
