They are not completely abolished until 2026!!    The best place for anything to do with driving in Spain is the N332 website.   It is for English speaking people and is run in collaboration with officers of the Guardia Civil, it also has an English version of the Spanish equivalent of the Highway Code on it.

Yes, the triangles have been abolished.  Too many people were getting killed putting them out.  The flashing beacon requirement does not come in till 2026.  Why the delay, I have no idea.  That sounds a bit dumb to me.

You can get beacons today and if you were to use one it would work as they give your GPS location to Trafico. 

Some beacons cost only €10-15.  These do NOT have the GPS facility, so don't buy one.  Having looked at the prices I recommend you shop around and look on Ebay as prices vary a lot.
