Grannyrose & thanks for the news that brexit  is "over" , ["it's all finished dead & gone".]

I last saw the ongoing news early this morning, (international news), with MUCH concentrated on UK economy, security, ongoing brexit trade deals & EU standards. I'll watch your news update later, unless, of course, you have a link? I Searched on " Finito, but wasn't there.

(edit; I got home) It was still ongoing (1050 pm eu) Any links for this?

It seems to me that Brexit caused as much pain and suffering to half the population as Covid did. Looking back at our departure from Europe it becomes clear that we, the general public had little or no information at hand to prepare us to vote. We were lambs to the slaughter BUT the EU set out to...

... make it a difficult departure and a painful journey. Thus was clearly done to make sure that no other country would dare to do such a thing again. To that end, I believe they achieved their goal. I live in (NI) and between the Irish government advising and whispering guidance to the EU, we’ve been left in a vacuum. No government and no sign of one. We’re Piggy in the middle. Still English firms refusing to post goods to us. Lots more. We’ve just tried to get on with our lives and hope things get sorted out but it’s not happening.

All of you who are still angry about Brexit are allowing that anger to eat into you. Be wise and move on. There’s nothing any of us can do to change things. The deed is done. It’s over. Finished. Put it behind you and shrug your shoulders. Another chapter in history.
Ignore newspaper articles. The truth is, people don’t care anymore. People just want to get on with their lives and keep a roof over their heads. Money is being wasted everyday of the week in all walks of life. Somebody will have benefited!!

Brexit is over. Dead and gone. Finished. Finito. The end.

Very well worded reply. Thank you

And this is posted in the forum why??

…Because people cant just let things go, typically those that didn't get the result they wanted and often those that actually choose to live outside the UK

Time and time again it's the Brexiteers who can't 'let it go' and whenever there is bad news instantly adopt a 'shoot the messenger' position and brand it 'remoaning'.

Given that remoaning is a concatenation of remainers and moaning instead of the pejorative overtone the term projects why not try thinking of it another way, remainers moaning not so much about the fact of Brexit itself but about the total mess the government has made of it.

Regarding the topic and it's title whichever side of the debate you sit on I don't know what else you could call the climbdown other than humiliating, are you proud of it?

I hear now that the decision to yet again delay the introduction of import controls, on the grounds that to do so would fuel inflation, is about to get UK in trouble with the WTO.

I don't see any arguments from the Brexiteers supporting those events only Pavlovian criticism for highlighting them.

Brexit continues to be a cluster f*** but that is not so much the result of the decision to leave as the utter failure of the government to understand the consequences of it and have any sort of coherent plan to counter them. The situation with Ireland is the outstanding example of that lack of foresight and planning.

It didn't have to be this way and frankly the idea that Brexit is "over, dead and gone, finished, finito" is breathtaking in its neivety.

As I have time on my hands 😉…

Here we go again… with another ‘remoaning’ thread that will have dozens of responses, none of which negate the democratic decision.

I suppose for a knuckle dragging breximoran this is possibly offensive but it does make exporting a little bit easier and so helps the disunited kingdom's economy.

Or those who travel to, have interests in or live here (or affected by) in the Costa Blanca ( & Spain, "my interpretation").  V

There has to be some serious mental health issues with some folk who seem unable to get over the brexit result instead of getting on with their lives…. and that applies on both sides of the argument.

More important things in life, deal with it and move on.
