My wife and I are coming to Catral in Feb to sign a rental agreement on a holiday home and wondered which is the best way to get to Catral if we do not hire a car

Bit of a trek, but you get the airport bus into Alicante, get off at the train station and catch the Murcia train. Make sure it stops at SAN Isidro/Catral station as some go straight through to Murcia. Catral station is in the middle of nowhere so you’d need a taxi to your final destination. The last trains about 10pm. It will cost you about 20 euros on public transport,(for 2 of you) add to this a taxi at Catral end and I think you might be better paying 50 euros from the airport, it’s a 30 minute journey. Buses and trains about half a day.

We’re in Albatera and regularly catch the train from san Isidro/Catral into Alicante but we park at the station, there are no buses.

Have a safe journey, you’ll love Catral.

It's better to take a taxi directly from Alicante Airport to Catral.

Without a doubt taxi is quickest and not much more expensive, thought i’d Just mention that public transport is possible to Catral from the airport if you’ve plenty of time, not too much luggage and you want to see the countryside rather than the motorway. I use both depending on time constraints.

I can recommend taxi2airport.com for prebooking
