To sign on the padron you must be  resident or at least in the process of applying for residency, are you?

It’s usually a very simple process requiring no legal help. Make an appointment at the relevant Ajuntamiento and go there with all relevant documentation that you can think of, including Copia Simple of your Escritura, or long term rental contract.

They will take all relevant info and issue a piece of paper!

Where we are, we are lucky in that we don’t have to make an appt, just walk in, but we are a very small village!
