I've been using Tvmucho for several years and I'm happy with the service. I get 36 channels including all UK channels.

www.tvmucho.com

All legal, download it from Google play.

Just because an app is available in the Play Store does not mean the service it provides is legal.

TVmucho claim to pay royalties but if it were that simple then why wouldn't the channels themselves monetise their services in the EU or even worldwide with subscription models?

The fact that they don't, and in fact quite the opposite do all they all they can to prevent reception from outside of the UK by geo-blocking and ever tighter satellite footprints, proves the point that for 3rd party content they broadcast they themselves are restricted in where they can make it available.

Basically anything you need to geo unblock with a VPN cannot be completely legal, the TVmucho app, meaninglessly termed a 'Virtualised Satellite Middleware Solution', is in fact nothing more than a VPN.

I've used Tvmucho for 7 years and never had to use a VPN, so what does that tell you?

Google play store do not make available illegal apps, they are deleted.

Tvmucho is a good quality service provider of worldwide TV and not just UK TV. If it were an illegal service as you suggest then it's surprising that its lasted so many years without the world's media companies not shutting it down.

Spanish copyright laws differ significantly from Anglosaxon ruling. The bottom line is that in Spain one can copy/hack whatever as long as   he doesn't resell- Data providers are prohibited to disclose personal data even to the state attourney. So far no one has been sentenced for copying copyrighted material for his own use (whatever this may mean).

It tells me that you missed the point that the TVmucho app is itself a VPN and that you have far more faith in Google policing of apps than me!

They use so called 'placeshifting' which is a fancy way of saying geo unblocking.

Another similar service UKTV used the same technique until they were finally threatened with legal action by the BBC and ITV so had to remove those from their service which in effect forced them to shut down as nobody wanted to subscribe without those.

I suspect at some time TVMucho will likely go the same way.

So please enlighten us with what your choice would be for a "legal" IPTV service? Or perhaps there are none.......

As far as I'm concerned Tvmucho is totally open about how they operate and they have been around for years providing a world wide service.

This is from their Terms and Conditions:

Our Service is compliant with the European Court of Justice rulings on free-to-air
satellite channels: C 607/11, C‑138/16, and any other relevant judgement.

Any IPTV offering TV channels and pay tv channels without the correct subscription and authorisations from the broadcaster / rights owners will be illegal.

And now look in Italy where from the 8th August, users of illegal IPTV services can be fined up to 5000e, operators and resellers more, and even ISP can be fined huge amounts if they do not block the illegal streams, and users personal data can be collected and used for further investigations. And if it works in Italy you can bet other countries will follow suit.

TVMucho (and Filmon - remember them, still going!), just seem to use wordplay. Quoting ECJ laws does not really make it legal. The ones they mention are about they cannot offer their service to the general pubic without authorisation from the rights holders. So they make their service subscription, so it is not open to the public but a closed group, and it gets around the wording and intention of the ruling. But I am not a lawyer and this is just my laymans interpretation of the ruling they mentioned...am sure their lawyers get paid a lot to make their own interpretations...
