Completing on property in Caudete Oct 2020. Due to Covit19 regulations, I am unable to visit Spain (from th UK) until November so I would like to get a schedule of work to be done  as soon as possible and this will continue well into 2021. I am looking  for local trades and handy persons to help with renovation of property. Looking for recommendations of local builder's,  roofers, plasterers,  tilers, glaziers, plumber, electrician, joiner,  gardeners etc.

The house initialy requires roof repairs, hot water, kitchen extension, new windows and patio doors, some internal platering, lighting and electrical improvements. This will be an ongoing project and I look forward to hearing from anyone who has appropriate skills in house renovation or who can recommend anyone. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply Ian.

I think i am going to need some luck...timing is perfect with this Covit19 but I love a challenge and I've certainly got one here. So glad i found this brilliant forum (thanks Alex) . I am also considering solar system and I am grateful for any information  you can give me. Have you had a solar system installed if so would you share opinions,  advice, options and information.

Hi Christine,

Purchased house with 15 year old solar system ,knowing I would need to invest - well after a months use in March I realized complete replacement would be cheaper and more efficient .

Consequently I shopped around and investigated various options , in the end I settled on a all new system using latest top quality products from Victron , 16k investment. Now we have all the power we need to run 3 bedroom house , fridge / freezer , chest freezer , washing machine , tv satellite system , internet , cell booster , electric oven , microwave , kettle , coffee maker , misc kitchen appliances , pool 6 hrs a day in winter 8 hrs in summer , electric gate , security cameras 24/7 and tools in my workshop , lights etc. This July I added 3 a/c's without problem - I now use 1 a/c to take chill off living room each morning for couple hours on heat !  I could have done cheaper BUT wanted a system that requires zero attention from me - so went lithium batteries . Happy to PM you the full details and if you would like to visit and see whole setup when you are here very welcome.

I would note we have all very efficient electrics - most are A+++ rated and LED lights - all my outside tools are battery ( lithium again ) so no gas brush cutters or hedge trimmers etc - even electric chain saw - so I get full use of my "sun power" - even so we are normally "full" by 11am each day .

Would not go back to on the grid now :-)

Hi Ian.
This sounds amazing and is certainly something I think we need to seriously consider. How many solar panels did you have to install to get this amount of output?. Does this system also heat your water.?  Thank you so much for the detailed information and yes I would appreciate details of the installation and I will certainly be taking you up on your kind offer. I will keep in touch and let you know when I can get over there and I look forward to meeting you.
