Kim, Thanks for posting the yellow card reporting scheme, and I must bring it to attention, that it is generally believed by detractors that these numbers shown are vastly reduced from the real numbers, most doctors can't be arsed to fill in the time consuming reports and get paid nothing for filling the reports, unlike the 25£ they got for each person vaccinated.

I'm done here now , just wanted to speak out against the seemingly majority who think the vaccines are the bee's knees. I note there are more people speaking out contra now than before and am grateful I haven't been banned for setting out an opposing position.

        just by looking at the statistics since the covid pandemic began you can see the effectiveness of the covid vaccines in dramatically reducing the number of deaths v. number of covid infections.

The attached link shows figures for the UK only, taken from worldometers website. Other countries have very similar trends (you can see these on the same website if you are interested).

  Like it or not we have the luxury of being able to move around the world again in relative freedom because of the effectiveness of the covid vaccine program. I for one will be happy to get the next booster jab later this year, as will just about everyone else I know.

I have never suggested that I don't believe a relatively small number of people have been adversely affected by a Covid-19 vaccine.  Two known, but very rare, side effects are myocarditis in some younger people and an equally rare blood clotting disorder associated with the AstraZeneca vaccine.  Where these cases have resulted in Long Covid, or worse, death, that is tragic for all involved, but the numbers are, thankfully, tiny compared to the billions of lives saved by Covid-19 vaccines worldwide.

And I don't have an issue with people having a different view, so long as their arguments are qualified, not sweeping generalisations and unverifiable personal opinion.  For example, your comment, "it is generally believed by detractors that these numbers shown are vastly reduced from the real numbers".  How do you know that, what's your source?  And how can you verify that "most doctors can't be arsed to fill in the time consuming reports"?  A GP friend of mine would be highly insulted by that allegation.  Again, where's your proof?

I don't believe the vaccines are the "bees knees", but because of verifiable scientific data, I do believe they have saved the lives of billions who would otherwise have died, or suffered Long Covid.  As I said before, you're entitled to your opinion, but that does not make it fact, when you can only offer anecdotes, not evidence.
