I'm not trying to push an angle or wind anyone, up, but really all that article is saying is you are less likely to get a virus on a plane than on a bus. What I'm saying is there is an increased chance of getting a virus if confined to a small space with other humans, be it bus, plane, train, office etc.

But, at the end of the day, it's important that everyone is comfortable with the decisions they've made.

Yes - the aeroplanes will be having their HEPA filters checked and changed, which are the same type of filter/certification as used in hospital operating theatres & filter the air of germs every few minutes. Better than many other public places/buildings.

I think the issue is more one of you sitting close next to someone with a cold etc - which could happen anywhere - as mentioned above - bus or anywhere you are near to other people - quite difficult to avoid continually - or unless quarantined.

Personally - i'd go on holiday, but not a hotspot area or something like a cruise, as that's a contained area which we've already seen is not a good environment.

The Spanish Government has been, like other countries,
slow in their response to the spread of the virus.

More travel restrictions will be seen over next weeks/ months.

From news yesterday...

“Health Minister, Mr Sánchez is scheduled to meet business and union leaders on Thursday to discuss an emergency economic package to soften the economic blow of the epidemic, which could hit Spain’s tourism sector hard.

The health ministry is also calling for those in the most affected areas to work from home where possible
and for people throughout Spain to avoid all
but essential travel, both inside and outside the country”

I'm so glad they have cancelled this.  Up until last night, I was asking myself - 'Why 2 or so hour up the road, are they still saying there is no need to cancel a fiesta which attracts 2 million people'.  Commonsense finally kicks in.

If Boris self-isolates, will anyone notice? Other than the odd press conference inside No.10, it's not like he's seen out and about a lot.

The brilliant Fintan O'Toole has as usual summed it all up in a headline...

Hi RayD

That link you provided states that tests have hardly been done outside of high risk areas near Madrid.
So next few weeks will see further increases in all areas as tests are actually provided.
Is Elpais the most reliable online source of Spanish news?

Yes, quite a headline 'UK Health minister has Coronavirus'!

Cheltenham races yesterday they reported attendance down - some staying away - 64,000 were there. Mentions of sanitizers everywhere, people getting a squirt when they went in and extra toilets.

It's a difficult and fine line to tread, as clearly it doesn't take much to panic the general population - so governments have to think very carefully to balance this.

Just for a distraction reference - to date this year there have been around 6500 gun-related deaths in the USA, that seems to be growing.

It's pretty obvious.

Chances are we'll all come into contact with someone with it.

No cure for 12 months or so.

If over 70 what will be, will be, you've lived to 70+

If you have underlying conditions or affected autoimmune system, also potentially difficult to fight off.

Fate. I am a little younger, but with an underlying issue - but i'm not going to lock myself in an airtight room, i'll make a few commonsense adjustments, but if it's my time - then so be it, life's too short. I've seen plenty of people fk themselves up and mishaps which have happened to people - so live life while you can.
