Catral Licence for burning on your property, issued on a Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 12 noon.

We got our burning licence this morning and things have changed from the last official dates of issuing the licience. From monthly to 8 months. The periods of burning.

The local police now issue the licience for 8 months a picture of the plot and house with full address, and your full details. My husband took the old licience in with him.The licience is from 18th October up to May 31st. You can burn from sun rise until 1.30 pm. There are provisions like burning on some Saints days, It will tell you on the back of the licience.

Next year you go to the Ayuntamiento to repeat.

It's all about respect in Spain, not in England now

Obtained my new permit from the Medio Ambiente office that is in tye tourist office. Took two minutes for a new one. Did not ask for ID or padron as my details were on the last permit.

PLEASE NOTE. The permits expire on 31st December, and a new one will need to be obtained from 1st January 2022 to allow you to have a fire after that date. This was confirmed by the very helpful young lady who gave me my permit.

Another of Spain's oddities (to me) ticked off of the list.

I live in Crevillente. Hope this information will be of use to new residents to the town, or to those that want to apply for or renew their permit.

I actually like the way that towns can have their own rules-it makes so much more sense.

This morning I have finally got my licence from Sax Ayunt.

Having spent much of yesterday feeding them information on WhatsApp you can imagine my frustration when I went for my appointment to be given a form onto which I had to put all the info I had given them yesterday. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.  It was just as if what I had done yesterday did not exist.

Having filled in the form it actually becomes the licence once the obligatory rubber stamp has been applied.

There are some restrictions on the back, but there is no mention of an expiry date.

Update 22/10/21.  I have just found out that the Sax licence expires May 2022.

Bent advice I had upon moving to Spain was;

"forget how things were done in the UK, and don't compare the two".

It is hard not to at times, but overall it has been great advice.

Unfortunately I am not good at accepting what I see is rank inefficiency. It's just the way I am.  I just feel like banging heads together..

Same here, it really grinds my gears to see such inefficiency and can't do attitude. Spain has designs on being a forward looking go getting country, some hope.

The majority of posts on this forum, this one included are to do with Spanish inefficiency and lack of consistency when applying rules. If there was consistency then we could at least get our heads round what is required when dealing with officialdom

For example there is currently a thread on Citizens advice FB relating to the collection of TIE cards some have collected without the need for producing their passport again, others have not been able to collect their cards without their passport, which is pretty stupid as my understanding is the TIE has the persons picture on, I rest my case.
