I need to get my 11 year old into school, we are learning the language but not great as yet. Is there a Spanish/english school. I do not want her in an international as we want to integrate into spanish life, but do not want to throw her into the deep end either. I would also like to meet people myself. I am sophie my husband is mark and our daughter is kaylee , we moved here 3 weeks ago. Had alot to sort out lol. Now need to live. Advice on school and socializing would be gratefully received.

Hi Sophie

Ray is right, unfortunately your daughter has to be thrown in at the deep end.  We had the same problem with our 8 year old daughter in the UK: she only spoke German but within 6 months you would not know that she was not English!   A combination of home tutoring and good friends at school and the path is, relatively, smooth....

If you want to meet other English expats in Crevi then why not give me a PM because we meet regularly and we could help you to integrate.

Kind regards

Richard

Thank you so much. Should I go to the infant or elementary school to apply. Not sure who I'm even supposed to speak to? Do I just go into the reception as we would in the uk?

Hi Sophie

Depends on your level of Spanish.... otherwise you need an interpreter.  Yes you can go straight to reception or otherwise make enquiries at the Ayuntamiento.   I think that the nearest school to you is in the same street as the Tanatorio.

Kind regards

Richard

Thank you. We are being told all sorts about getting residency, kaylee into school all sorts. None of which is helpful. Trying to trawl through the now changed rules.
