Panel heaters are good as they care relatively cheap to buy (€50-70) and to run, but hang them on an internal wall only otherwise you will waste a lot of the heat. They plug into a standard socket. DIY shops like Leroys and AKA have them in stock at this time of year. You can also ask whoever holds a key for you in Spain to pop in and switch them on a couple of days before you arrive for winter visits. Rugs on the floor in winter will make a difference too. If you have hot/cold air con then set it to warm and use that too.

Hello,
If you have aircon units in the apartment, maybe check if they can be set to warm aswell as cold.
Ours can.
Best wishes,

Your question was about warming your apartment. If you have aircon units, you may be able to set the temperate to heat the room.

From experience, I would use a panel heater and a air con unit to heat the room. Although depending on size and layout, you may get away with just the aircon, with the direction pointing downwards. Combined with the cheap rate energy tariff, this will provide the most KW per £ worth of heat for your money. For example, my air con (which is old) knocks out 4kw worth of heat for the 1.5kw of power needed to run it. Where as a 2kw heater will throw out 2kw of heat but will consume 2kw of power to run it. Other tips which i would recommend is get a onesie. It's not very manly wearing one and you look a berk but they work wonders and the best thing i've been given here in the winter. I would also recommend insulating your roller shutter expanses (if possible), and obviously at some point, replace your sliding aluminium windows, if applicable (as they're rubbish).

With the panel heaters you must put them on an internal wall not the one that you are joined to next door or you will heat there house as well the wall will heat up and acts as a radiator
Hi, this is also our first Winter in our new home, we bought a gas heater for about 100€ and it works very well in our small livingroom, after 1-2 hour I switch the gas heater off, the room is lovely warm 👍
