Just wondered if anyone could tell me about fining during the Corona crisis

Are fines on-the-spot.

My passport details were taken because I took out my tecycling, 200 yards away. Nothing was issued to me but am I going to receive a fine at some point?

Thanks Ray for your reply.  They were the local police.

They didn't say anything. Just escorted us home and asked to see our passports which they photographed.

They didn't write anything down but asked for our address here.

They also asked if I had an NIE number which I do but didn't know it off-hand.

I'd guess that you attracted attention because you said 'us', implying there were two of you, which certainly wasn't the wise thing to do.

Like Ray, i don't think you'll hear any more about it.

Lesson learned!

Hi Jim,

Yes, thought about that afterwards. Was stupid but we walked far apart. Just too many bags for one.

As you say, 'lesson learned'!

Thanks for your reply.

Hi bev

According to the cab FB page police are taking photos of id and nie numbers then the fines are being sent out. Hopefully you don't end up with one but thought I'd let you know that it doesn't look like they are doing on the spot fines.

Of course we don't need so much policing Ray - it's people of taste, discernment and common sense who live in areas like ours!

We've seen an Orihuela local police car on our lane more often that we used to, but he's not stopped us or any of our neighbours.

The only place I've been stopped was on furniture road in Almoradí, out of a total so far of eight journeys along that road.

Thanks Ray,

In response to other remarks about following rules and being an 'idiot' I'd like to point out that I do follow rules and I'm certainly no idiot.

I made a mistake, took recycling out. The mistake was, not alone.

I've learned from it and if I'm fined I'll pay the price.

I'd like to thank those who gave constructive advice.

We are only allowed to put rubbish in the bins between 8.00pm and 11.00pm. How many people knew that? I dont know if it applies in all areas but it cerainly does in Rojales/Quesada. Worth checking.

I for one , this was news to me. In my area, the collection is as before. In order to prevent accumulation in order to stagger the hours,to distance the public as  possible.

"The management of waste from households without positive or quarantined by COVID-19, will continue to be carried out in the usual way in accordance with ordinary waste management regulations, taking into account the recommendations in section 2 of the annex." (see:)

https://www.acrplus.org/en/municipal-waste-management-covid-19#spain

I would be interested for other people in the Rojales/Quesada area, if you have access to this particular directive.
