Hi all, I came over in September so had all the relevant paperwork. Can anyone confirm what we need now both on the way out to Spain and what we need to get back into the UK. As I know it's changed.

Hi,

Your post title suggests that you are asking for 2022. I can't imagine anyone will know the rules yet for 2022.

Sorry for any confusion, I'm travelling in early January. Just looking to understand the current requirements. As they differ from last summer.

As Steve has already mentioned it is too soon to say what will happen next year. Current regulations for entering the U.K. are supposed to be in force until the end of the year. With the whole of Western Europe experiencing a increase in cases, who knows what will happen. Travel could well be restricted to the triple jabbed by then.

Who expected that Austria would go back into lockdown, except for the fully jabbed. Germany having constant U turns over Christmas Markets, Ireland closing the bars early and Spain thinking of introducing the need to show a covid pass to entering bars. That’s all just in the past 3 or 4 days.

I would leave it to nearer the time as regulations will change by then.

Hi

As of today, after 7th December we need to take a pre- departure covid PCR or lateral flow test within 48 hrs of departure from Spain and once in UK we need to take s PCR test within 48 hrs of landing.

Paperwork: Proof of predeparture test results and paid booking for post arrival test.😖😖

This may change by January so I would subscribe to the Foreign Office website:
