There has always been paperwork and difficulties for people moving to Spain. These days for those coming from the UK it's just different, more expensive (visa) and people need to demonstrate a higher level of income/ savings.

Good question about driving licenses. You will no doubt be aware of that those moving here as part of the withdrawal agreement needed to swap the UK ones for a Spanish one and that if they didn't do it before a certain date, or at least start the ball moving with the DGT, then they might now need to take a Spanish driving test. I do not know if this applies to those coming over with one of the new, to Brits, visas or whether a swap is okay for this cohort.

Spain is still a very friendly place with a lot to offer. Just do your analysis and see if your plan holds firm. Good luck :)

You will get some good information from members of this forum if you ask direct questions.

Please ask as much as you like.
