EU passport holder residing in UK

Hi all
sorry if this is a stupid question but if my partner and I both have EU passports but live and reside in the UK, what issues would we face retiring in Spain?

Are you sure you have a passport issued by the EU? UK passports which are still valid will of course bear the EU insignia but that will have no real effect against the myriad of things you face. On the other hand, if your passports have been issued by a continuing member state of the EU, you will have no difficulty in continuing as a "remainer", you lucky pair.

As the UK is now out of the EU and has become a third nation you will have to initially apply to the Spanish embassy for an application for residency in Spain.
You will need to apply for a Visa.
You will need to satisfy the requirements for income and healthcare.

Thank you both for the replies.
We have French and Irish passports so we weren’t sure if we have to meet all the new criteria and proof of income that UK people face.

No, nothing has changed for you as a result of Brexit. You can move to Spain whenever you like and start the residency process.
There are income requirements and health insurance requirements (if you are below retirement age) but the income requirements are much lower than that expected of a British or other third country citizen.

No they won’t they are still EU citizens regardless of where they move from.
