Does anyone know of an alternative route from San Isidro to Albatera on foot? I don't have a car and on Thursday we walked along the main road. It really did not feel very safe crossing slip roads etc. We couldn't find any back road routes on google maps though. Does anyone know of an alternative route? We couldn't find any information on a bus even.

Also, when we reached Albatera there was a market. Was this the weekly market or is it there daily? Is the fruit and veg covered market open daily?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Angie,

The street market is only on Thursday in Albatera.

The fruit and veg covered market opens daily but not all the stalls are open,  only some of them. If you want to buy some fruit or vegs , you can. Some days fresh fish. On Thursday all of them are open.

There is another route to get to Albatera from San Isidro, there are fewer cars but it takes longer. In San Isidro, at the traffic light on the left. If you follow this road you will get to Albatera. You will pass the bridge over the motorway. Then the 3rd on the right.

Thanks very much for all the information. Which traffic light do you mean - sorry? Where is it in relation to the main road that runs through in relation to the little hiper market and the restaurant on the left - think it is called Ricon or something like that - near the edge of the village. It is great I don't have to walk that road! Can I also ask if you know of any Spanish lessons? I am keen to learn.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

When you come from the train station to Albatera there is a traffic light in San Isidro, on the main road,  I think there is only one.  At the traffic light turn left and you will get to Albatera.  As I told you I think that it will take you longer to get to Albatera.

Regarding Spanish lessons,  ask in the town hall. They Sometimes offer Spanish lessons and They are usually very cheap.

Thanks for the information. I will get out and explore and find the town hall so I can ask about the lessons.
