HAVE I BEEN SCAMMED ????? - Page 2

We were scammed last year booking a holiday on the internet and got our money back from the bank (Sabadell) from their insurance, we did have to report this to the police to get a crime number.

Im pleased to say she has finally messaged me today, all I can say is thankyou to everyone who has answered my post.

This has certainly opened my eyes and I will be more careful next year when we will be coming out again.  If anyone has a property they want to rent out for approx. 5-6 months then please let me know.

Hello Squibs, I am aware you posted some time ago but I was just reading, with interest your post. I am pleased that this was resolved positively. Home owners are also scammed. One of the common scams is asking for a long-term let, say for a year, beginning in June/July, the tenant then uses it for themselves, family and friends over a period of three months (the high season), then terminate the contract. They in affect have sublet, obtained a long term rent of 450 or 500 Euros per month, which is far cheaper than a holiday rental, made enough money subletting to cover their own holiday and may be making a profit. We all need to be careful of scams.

I am a holiday rental owner and do not wish El Campello to be linked to scams, for obvious reasons. I usually let via TripAdvisor, I add a link below.

We (my wife and I) mostly let for short term holidays, up to a month but we would always be willing to discuss longer term lets. El Campello is a great place for a holiday, even in these days of Covid 19 and I can assure you that owners like ourselves will do everything to make you safe and to offer you a place to enjoy your holiday.

Unless more information is provided it seems odd that someone would advertise an illegal holiday let on a thread titled "Have I Been Scammed?" 🤔 

So all above board then, apologies for doubting the legality. 

Hello RayD, thank you for pointying this out. Yes my property is Registered VT-468994-A and yes this property has no bath, just a shower. A shower is easier for most people. We have all ages of people and disabilities, so a shower is more suitable. Although I understand that some people prefer a bath.
