Problem with (Transfer) WISE

Has anyone had a problem transferring money today with WISE ?

I've been using them for ages and today when I select my usual Sabadell bank as the benefactor I get an error message saying something like "Account not Supported" or "We are not accepting payments to this account at this time"

There are no problems with Sabadell as far as I know, I have messaged Wise and also called them but all they can say is that they will get back to me in 3 or 4 working days

There are no problems with Sabadell as far as I know, I have messaged Wise and also called them but all they can say is that they will get back to me in 3 or 4 working days

Not sure whether it is connected but the  Owner/\ founder of Wise has been named by UK taxman as a serial fraudster and tax evader and there is now doubt as to whether he will retain his licence.

When I had a similar problem, after investigating it I found my bank had bounced the transfer as the company only had limited cover under the FCA, and not all the provisions. it would be worth talking to your banks' fraud department.

Hi OldSalt

I did read that the founder of Wise had been fined £365,651 by the Inland Revenue for being late submitting his 2017/18 tax return or as it had been reported by the Telegraph "defaulting on his tax bill"

Apparently since then he is "all paid up" and his tax affairs are now in order.

The problem I had transferring funds seems to be "technical" and I discovered that by double clicking my Spanish bank account number I was able to proceed with the transfer as normal. As it stands I'm waiting for a reply from Wise as to what the problem is. (I get the same error message on the mobile app as I do when using my computer)

I've since tried a couple of small transfers and apart from having to "double click" my Spanish account number all seems to be ok.

Hopefully they will resolve this seemingly minor glitch, they offer such a great service.

I've just transferred a large sum today from Barclays UK to Sabadell Spain in about 4 seconds. No problem

Yep. I transferred some money on Wise last week, no problem either. Like you, seconds.

Ps  ...So far he hasn't used any of my money to settle his tax bill 😁 and I've been using them for 6 years....

Just to let you know that after reporting this to Wise, I've since successfully made two transfers from the UK to Sabadell without any problems at all.

Although they never got back to me explaining what the initial problem was, I guess it doesn't really matter as everything seems to be working perfectly again.
