Can anyone tell me where the local doctor is in Gata? have a cold and cough that won’t go away and I think I should see a doctor, perhaps antibiotics will sort it. I am not resident in Spain.

Hi Janisinspain,
This link provides the address and telephone number of the state health centre in Gata de Gorgos - to use this facility, you'll need a current EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) or the UK's new GHIC (Global Insurance Health Card).

If you don't have either of these cards, you'll need to go to a private doctor, either via your travel insurance or pay.

Alternatively there is a good private clinic in Benissa, I think called Clinica Benissa, not to be confused with the Centro de Salud. Or the large iMed facility on the edge of Teulada at the roundabout which goes either to Gata or Benissa. But you will have to pay privately at either of these.

Thanks for your advice Kimmy. do have a GHIC card and will go to the health centre in Gata.
