Banco Santander problems with bank on line

This bank on line business with Bco Santander is driving me nuts!

I will not mention how many times in June I have had to communicate with my branch to eventually be able to make an online transfer using my telephone. This business of having a clave, a firma eletronica and a contrasegna is confusing me.

I have requested a tarjeta and been told to go online into the area personal and click on "Firma Electronica" after which I have receievd an SMS with a Codigo which I thought was the Firma electronica. Well what else could it have been ?

I have entered the required selected letters from that Codigo into the blank boxes and an error msg appears that also asks me to call the telephone number in Spain  that was menioned in the SMS. I really cannot make any sense of this system.

If someone with a bit of patience or who has had my same experience could explain , I d be grateful. I do not speak spanish nor does anyone in that Branch of Santander.Thanks

I had a similar issue, it turned out to be a security thing because I'd entered some information incorrectly.

Today I have made a little progress.

I have gone into my a/c online and clicked on  "Firma electronica para hoy". This produces a Codigo - a mixture of letters and digits - which is sent by SMS to my telephone.

I then click on Acceder under  "Buzon de contratos"  on the area personal of the online account.

This opens up a new page and I select from it:  Producto "Tarjeta" and then enter the letters/digits from the Firma in the field -Introduzca las posiciones 2, 3, 5 y 7 de su actual firma electrónica -  at the bottom of the page.

Result :

Mensaje de error

SEGOP_0010

Su firma electrónica ha sido revocada por motivos de seguridad. Para obtener una nueva firma contacte con nuestro servicio de atención telefónica.

Does anyone on the Forum for Costa Blanca know of a Bco  Santander Branch with a good english speaking employee who can clarify the procedure for registering online for a tarjeta ?  None of the staff  at my branch in Guardamar is fluent enough to have a telephone conversation with me.

I used the branch in Pilar de la horadada, the manager is fluent in English & there was another member of staff who was fluent too.

Thank you for your replies.

I ended up calling the english line in Madrid and the guy took me step by step and explained clearly. The guidelines I received from my Branch where, in contrast, a total shamble.

But I can put this behind me now.
